Postcard journaling swap.......

My friend Heather and I both like Brian Kasstles work....http://apaperbear.wordpress.com/

His journaling is often on postcards and often swapped with other artists to complete.

So, of course, 200 miles apart, this sounded a good idea for us.

We don't really have any rules, just to add something to the card and send to the other.

We have no idea when they will be finished and it's turning into a great experiment.

Here are the pics of the first batch of cards. Six each.

Heather did lots of collaging on hers and I got out my watercolours and broad brush stroked all six at the same time.

Watch this space........

Backlight........

Backlight ........ this weeks task for 'Be Still 52' workshop

I bought this jug and 2 mugs in a charity shop. I love the shape of the jug.

The blanket was found at Tynemouth market and I cut it into four and made lap blankets from them for my Christmas Emporium. This one stayed with me.

Maybe it will turn up in a painting sometime......

I'm just starting to even think about making work again after The Art Tour.

Slowly..........

Post Art Tour Blur............

So the Art Tour was here and .......... gone!

It wasn't straight forward. It wasn't easy. It wasn't massively successful in terms of selling lots of work ...... I sold enough to make it just worth while.

I did have lots of lovely conversations, tea and home made biscuits with family, friends and neighbours.

And ..... it helped me to realise that a one day summer event, advertised locally and through family, friends, neighbours and my mailing list would probably be just as successful.

So, watch this space for 2015 Art In The Garden Party!

And the blur? It's the Kim Klassen task for last week.

A photograph which is in focus close up and blurred backdrop. Harder to do than you would think!

I'm not massively in love with this photo, but I'm a week behind, so had to get on with it!

With 52 lessons over a year, I've got to keep up :-)

What do you think? Would love to hear from you..........

Be Still 52

Side lighting is what I'm supposed to be doing this week ---- but I didn't!

Saw these wild strawberries in the garden, thought they would look good against a plain white cup and saucer - grabbed some linen and this 'Think of Me' piece of needlework, which I found in at Tynemouth market and took them into the garden......

I will do side lighting soon.......;-)

Be Still.........

Oh I'm struggling with last weeks Kim Klassens Be Still 52 workshop.......

All about how to use your camera. My Cannon 125 doesn't even feature on the Cannon digital website, it's such a point and shoot dud!

No you tube or googling the manual helps .... Yikes, no idea about f stops and pre sets.

Very tempted to give up........

Scrolled down after two hours of trying to work it out and see that the theme of the week is to look for light.........so off I go, in the company of my trusty tiger lily cat and we found the light ...... in my studio!

So, point and shoot Cannon, edited on my i pad, 'Over' app to add text..........

Spot the tail ......
