Be brave........
Two posts in one day......;-)
This is my Kim Klassen photograph for this week.
The task is about backgrounds ---- I've gone for minimalist - my dining room table.
I had to move the nappy mat and teddy bear - granny duty paraphernalia!
Has to be said that minimalist is not always my style - often it's mega clutter!

Haslams of Hexham.........
Delivered 5 new pieces of work to Haslams of Hexham Gallery, Northumberland, yesterday.
They were beautifully framed by Mark Spencer who has a regular stand at Tynemouth Market and has been framing my work for almost 30 years!
If you're in the area call in and visit them! Ben Haslams gallery is a delight of contemporary art, antiques and art supplies ....... worth an explore.

Simple........
This weeks theme for Kim Klassens 'Be Still - Fifty Two' class is 'breathe'.
Last weeks was 'stillness'.
Both of these come together for me in this shot of crisp green apples.
The photograph was taken at my dear friend, Heathers house.
She is an artist and interior designer extraordinaire, and a visit to her home is a rich and creative pleasure which for me doesn't happen often enough as we live so far apart!
Here is an enormous Davisons glass stand full of colour.........
Photograph taken on my Cannon IXUS 125 HS and edited on my i pad.
I have no clue as to how to apply the techniques and backgrounds that Kim talks about, so just playing with image, form, colour and the rule of thirds with the word 'simple'.

I will get around to making another one at some point with my own paper
I will never, ever make the flowers again Hels, far too fiddly by far for my kind of liking!

Play.....:-)
Things have been very serious around here.
Getting ready for the art tour thing and moving studio. Yesterday I just felt that I wanted to play and found these old box files when I moved space, so they either had to go........or be more interesting/useful.
Set about collaging and then stencilling with acrylics. Let one dry and moved to work on the other and then back again to do some stamping with hand-carved stamps (stars). Then some adding Washi tape and stamps.
An afternoon of colour, mess and play!
So they went from.......dull old files to quite interesting storage boxes :-)
